I always thought discipline was too lax in my school. Far too many girls got away with far too many minor infractions and as we all know, if you give schoolgirls an inch they'll take a mile. So when I became Head Girl, I gave each of my prefects a little black book. So now, when they catch girls breaking the rules they award her one "demerit" or more if they think it serious enough. I've also told them to enforce the school rules rigidly so that each girl receives the maximum number of demerits. All the demerits are tallied up on Friday morning and any girl with 3 or more that week has to report to me in the punishment room during Friday Lunch break. Laura & Claire were 2 of the first girls to report for "demerit discipline". Laura had 7 demerits, but I wasn't interested in what they were awarded for, just in administering her discipline.
